Personal Finance Tracking – Excel Template

Tracking your financial portfolio helps you get a snapshot view of your financial health and take data driven decisions effectively.

Even if the app / website you use to invest show you a summary of all your investments, I personally feel it’s very important keep a record that is in your control. There is more to track than just your investments. You need to know the money in your bank, the money in your FD’s, the balance in your PPF / EPF. Your insurance coverage etc.

I have created a template to track your financial life: Personal Finance Template. Make a copy of it in your Google account and modify it as you see fit.

You will see the following tabs:

  • A dashboard that gives you a quick snapshot of your financial life.
  • Bank Accounts and balances available in each account.
  • Debt investments (PPF, Bank FD, Debt Mutual Funds etc.).
  • Equity investments (Equity Mutual Funds, Direct Stock Holdings etc.).
  • Insurances.
  • Other assets / funds that you might have. For example, any deposits that you have provided at the time of renting a flat.
  • A “Closed” tab to save details of past investments. Let’s say a FD matured and you closed it.

Obviously this is all manual work. Once you get a hang of it, it shouldn’t take more more than 20 minutes a month to update it and maybe an hour once every 6 months to analyze.

All the best.

Divi WordPress Theme - My Review

Divi WordPress Theme
Divi is a WordPress theme that web designers do not want you to know. It comes with a drag-and-drop theme builder. You can build beautiful looking unique websites without touching a line of code. Just choose from one of the many pre-made layouts, or pick elements and arrange them any way you like.

Divi is every WordPress developer's wet dream. Surprise your clients with neat responsive websites and have fun building them.

Divi comes from Elegant Themes. If you enjoy building websites, you *need* an Elegant Themes membership. 87 beautiful themes and 5 plugins for the cost of less than a candy-bar each!

Note: I am an avid user of Divi myself and this is a honest review. I wouldn't recommend something that I do not personally find amazing.
