A Face-lift job done, with lots of Link Love

When people grow old and their skin starts dropping, they do a facelift. Same happened here too. I shifted from the Illacrimo Theme to the brand new Revolution Church Theme. And that kept me busy for the past 3 days! Also there are some new things around here.

No.1 is the Threaded Comments
. I used the WordPress Threaded Comment Plugin and on this Church theme, it’s working very well. I had tried this on Illacrimo, me previous theme, and the results were very disappointing. The biggest advantage of this plugin is that, you don’t have to edit even a line of code. Just install the plugin and you are done. But the comments.php file in the theme should have the comment form id as ‘commentform’. Just search for ‘commentform’ in the file and if you find id=commentform then the plugin should work.

No.2 is the Featured Content Gallery
on the homepage. This plugin is from the Revolution team too. This pulls in featured articles and gives a fading slideshow of them on the homepage. See it for yourself.

No. 3 is Link Love
. I have installed the Top Commentators widget on the Sidebar. Though it is not detecting the old commentators, I hope it will work fine from now on. The good thing is that, I can remove any user from the list manually, so I can manage the spam in here.

No. 4 is the Blog Subtitle. Its “Technology Guide for the Digital Citizen”. How does that look? You like it?

Million Clues Revolution Logo

Million Clues Logo with Subtitle. Please rate it.

But the greatest update is the theme itself, see the top menus, see the homepage and the gallery. I think they look cool. What do you think..? Give me suggestions and comments.

During my work on this theme, a plugin named Theme Test Drive was of great help. It lets you load and edit one theme, while your readers will be seeing another theme. Great to test themes online.

You might see some vacant spaces on the homepage, I have to fill them in and that’s what I am gonna do now. Cheers.

Divi WordPress Theme - My Review

Divi WordPress Theme
Divi is a WordPress theme that web designers do not want you to know. It comes with a drag-and-drop theme builder. You can build beautiful looking unique websites without touching a line of code. Just choose from one of the many pre-made layouts, or pick elements and arrange them any way you like.

Divi is every WordPress developer's wet dream. Surprise your clients with neat responsive websites and have fun building them.

Divi comes from Elegant Themes. If you enjoy building websites, you *need* an Elegant Themes membership. 87 beautiful themes and 5 plugins for the cost of less than a candy-bar each!

Note: I am an avid user of Divi myself and this is a honest review. I wouldn't recommend something that I do not personally find amazing.
