Mine is Vista Home Premium 64 bit. My lap is on whenever am awake, but I use it to run Firefox, Listen to music (windows media player), movies on VLC, and some GAMES. Maybe thats why everything is fine. Also its only 5 months old. Also the configuration is good, way too much that I actually need, 4 GB ram and 2.53 processor with 512 graphics card. So far so good :)

btw, I never update windows via auto update. Always wait for service packs to come out :)

Problems with Vista pop up depending on what all you use. My lap is usually on 24x7. And i do too many things at the same time, things which were perfectly fine with XP. I had problems with winamp, kept crashing. Overall speeds were slow, transfer rates. I felt crippled. I had TuneUP software fixing all errors and cleaning registry but still. Vista was a nightmare! I've not had that feeling with Win7 yet. And if at all i have problems with Vista, it used to be cause i opted the 64bit or with networking. I seriously cant get around networking troubles. And advice to Vista users, down automatically download updates. One of the services packs left my lap on an infinite reboot process to which windows did not have a remedy. Since i had all my files stored on a diff hdd, i didnt lose any files. It was after that, that i switched to Win7. your probably the 1st person that has told that its fine with VISTA. Which version u got ? I have heard that Vista Ultimate had fewer problems compared to Home.

LOL, mac's are catching up fast. There was only one Mac in MACE when you guys were around (if I am not wrong). Now there are three four macs around.

btw, I got a free Win7 upgrade from Dell, haven't tried it though. I don't find any problems with Vista, I guess most problems were cuz users don't know how to use it, or solve simple issues. Moving to win7 soon :)

I've been using Win 7 since 11th May, and is this a relief !! HELL YEAH !! The 64 bit version is smooth apart from the fact that some high end applications require their 64bit version. Else, all is well. I dont remember the last time that I installed an OS so fast. MY my, Win7 lives up to its name. I didnt have to download any drivers for my lap as well. I do have a few problems, but thats to do with my laptop hardware. The OS is smooth. Its probably time that most people started using Win7 but for those who are yet too. What are you waiting for. And yea, any sponsors for a MAC ?? i soo want to try it out.. :P :P :P

Maybe you should get acquainted with MAC then, as the saying goes "Once you go mac, you will never go back" ;)
